SGMO: Nature’s Cure for Poverty

Sorry to be a broken record, but–

SGMO is up 12% AH following their annual analyst briefing discussing 2007 milestones and 2008 goals.

Things that are interesting on the call, as relayed to me by my associate Matto*:

– In Europe, you aren’t allowed to manipulate grain seeds. However, SGMO merely changes them, which means SGMO may be the sole supplier of technology for seed manipulation in Europe, giving them a MON-like edge.

– Paraphrase quoting: “Your imagination is the limit; We can turn a plant that doesn’t produce food into one that does”

as a final viz., THEY OWN ALL OF THEIR PATENTS, WHICH ARE WORTH A LOT

*Matto is now posting at the PG, and I vouch for his shit, so be sure to give him and his crazy ideas more credence than you normally would.  The man can trade.  And he got me in SGMO.

Ducati just did a patent assessment and valued their portfolio at $00.03.

Clearly this post is lacking annoying text link ads.

I’ll have Jeremy correct this problem.

    Danny & Drosophilius,

    SGMO……just had a look.
    Hideous.

I see that “intangibles’ are being incorrectly valued into common stock prices.

    jog

Grant, yes, but surely the title, “SGMO, Nature’s Cure for Poverty” is worth something?

    Very clever Boone.

MONstah will stomp out their meager lives and swallow them.

  6. Danny Says:

fly - I demand annoying text links

ducati - like I’ve said…genentech or bust. It’s a biotech after all. I think of allthe story stocks, this one seems coolest. And, they dont deal with the same side of the FDA that grants drugs, for better or worse.

    Shed - thanks

jake - nope. Unless you mean acquire, but I think they’d first be bought by a big pharma in need of pipeline> I imagine increasingly large equity stakes from or SIAL or DOW as well.
