Little Vacay

by Danny on July 21st, 2008 at 3:45:45 pm

And I’m back.

Basically, [[wynn]] looks like a piece of garbage up here. 100 is resistance, and I’m tempted to short, but maybe I’ll wait to see how it goes tomorrow at the open.

I got stopped out of [[bbbb]] at 39.  Fuckers.  Forget that one for now.

[[aapl]].  I decided to cover my short into earnings.  I bought a long guts option.   Big tech has been homohammered post earnings, and [[aapl]] is in a clear downtrend.  So that’s my idea there, we’ll see what happens.  However, since I am an AAPL fan, I and know how tight their shit is, I didn’t want to just bet against them.

yeah, im kinda pissed about it. didnt want to buy puts on this one. I had my 250 order when it was trading around 95, put out at limit once and market twice. assholes.

Danny, what strike and exp. did you buy, and why? Also, what was your cost on that? Thanks for helping out an options n00b…

8.90 for the call and 9.60 for the put, august 165.

I edited the rest of this comment cuz I made a mistake. First I didn’t make it, telling shed I’d prolly make 400, then I did mistakenly made an asinine mistake, thinking I’d make 1,300. Small difference there.

Deezy has got the scoop. I need another vacation.

I shed my usual straddle earning strategy for AAPL and just bought some straight put lottery tickets. It’s no mega-millions, but looks like they will pay off handsomely.

How does the current state of affairs net you 1310 in gains? Risk is 1850; assuming the calls are worthless and the puts are worth 2200, wouldn’t your gain be 350? Or am I missing something in my brain-haze?
