APOL - my best ever one day trade! Down 33% from yesterday open to today’s close ($60 to $40). Banked 1000% on my puts today. Off to drink rich people liquor.
Fly says: “I win not having to buy and mail you idiots a ‘Fly For President’ yard sign.” He is working real hard not to get the mentally challenged vote.
P.S. Where is the iBankCoin Presidential convention?
Is this crash protection, or upside limitation or both.
In music production you use compressors and limiters to smooth out the recording volume of an instrument. Is this what they are trying to do in the financial markets?
So who is this Chuck Bennett guy who shorted PAL? I have never heard of him. Must be some sort of big fish trapped in a net.
The fact of the matter is he may have a 37% paper profit holding a short position in PAL. But the real fun starts when he attempts to cover. How is he going to do that. Once the US dollar continues the collapse and precious metals continue the rally up, he will be caught trying to cover. There is just not enough willing sellers to allow the shorts to cover.
He is a trapped big fish anyway.
Mind you. There will be Mandatory Rolling Blackouts in South Africa starting next monday. That will be fun.
Cramer: Why GM’s a Buy at $30 For one, GM will be a nonunion shop For one, GM will be a nonunion shop in a couple of years, says Jim Cramer.

The FED is investigating one Chuck Bennet aka “Broker A” aka “The Fly” aka “Time Traveling Space Alien Magician” aka “Al Fuc Yah Mutha Fuk Ah” for certain short sales of Lehman “Broker than Broke” Brothers. A man seen landing in a Helicopter outside “The Fly’s” house would not comment on the investigation. More to come….
I’m tired of reading all the bullshit here from shortsellers. All you asswipes must live in Hooverville in central park. If things are so fucking bad out there:
.. Why can’t I get a decent parking space at the mall?
.. Why do I have trouble finding someone to mow my goddamn grass?
.. How come it so fucking hard to get a decent time slot within the next month for a dental appointment?
.. Why do I wait an hour to get a table at a scumbag Chili’s?
.. Why in the fuck does it take 15 minutes to check out at Target?
.. Why in the hell can’t they keep premium beer on the fucking shelf at my grocery store?
I live a miserable middle class life. Every fucking turn I take, there are other miserable middle class people with wads of cash, standing in line of front of my sorry ass … making me wait. Me, I can’t wait for this fucking depression that all you retards keep talking about. I want these people wiped out and sent down to the poor house … so it won’t take me so goddamn long to get things done. In the mean time, you assholes simply have it all wrong. This economy is still firing on all cylinders and the miserable middle class are out there spending their asses off.
Also, my biggest CD buying account just returned $800k in CDs because their bank has called their line of credit. No shit, this retailer just returned, unannounced, 120k CDs. Says they need to in order TO STAY SOLVENT.
Music sales down 30+% this year. They are freaking out here.
History is an excellent teacher. In late October of 1929, how do you think the world looked to the average (not “internet” but) radio retard? Do you think the average Joey Bag saw 1933 in 1929?
The market is a discounting machine, Cell. It discounts the future, not the past, or even the present.
I feel blown out. I have losses, as I’ve described in the past, but I feel psychologically blow out. I continue to watch, chart, screen, but I am not trading. Frozen. Its weird. Like I’m locked up.
What? buy gold at $1,000? can’t chase it. GOOG on a dip? f that. Short financials? When the helicopter rescues them?
I see no upside and no downside.
Prolly doesn’t make sense, but that is where I am.
RE: your data point about not being able to find parking at the mall:
i found myself saying the exact same thing about 2 weeks ago….
me (to my wife): “i thought the economy was fucked….why cant i find a god damn parking space?”
later we are inside the mall…..all trinity/neo like:
wife: “do you see that?”
me: “what?”
wife: “you are the financial genius here…dont you see it?”
me: “WHAT?”
wife: “no one is carrying any bags”
…and i am supposed to be the smart one
i think the parking situation was caused by 3 things:
1. its still the place for 15 year olds that just got their driving permit go to hang out
2. most malls now have movie theatres….they are in fact packed (hey, just like the “talkies” in the 1930’s)
3. the consumer, in their typical herd like metality, still go “shopping”, cuz thats what they do, its recreation, its rote behaviour…..difference now is, they dont buy
“Lehman Brothers is accusing a Japanese trading company of perpetrating a massive fraud and plans to sue it for hundreds of millions of dollars, officials at the U.S. investment bank said Sunday.”
A third of our population is scraping, and I do mean scraping, by. Living paycheck to paycheck is an understatement. “Tent cities” are popping up to accomodate those who have lost their homes.
For others in the bottom 1/3, the high food and energy costs are increasing their frustration levels. The civil unrest and rioting you read about in China, Mexico and other places is on the verge of happening here.
Anybody hoping for a depression is a piss poor excuse for a human being. Why don’t you do us all a favor and remove yourself from the gene pool. Stick a loaded double barrel shotgun in your mouth and pull both triggers to end your self declared miserable existence, you lousy piece of shit.
I don’t hope for a depression, I hope for a recession. There should be a minimum of human suffering, but this recession is absolutely necessary. Recessions are good, they’re the regular economic forest fires that clears out the dirty shit to prevent a massive firestorm that ruins everything.
What pisses me off is that the fuckfaces at Bear Stearns are getting a bailout instead of being declared bankrupt. The money should be going towards those that are most in need and had nothing to do with this.
I am unhappy to believe that the U.S. will face a depression as bad as what Nouriel Roubini is claiming — nevertheless, this means that it makes sense to not be a fucktard bull.
Great observation nullpointer. I’ve been hearing the consumer is fucked for a while now, yet everytime I head out to replenish the liquor cabinet the parking lots are jammed.
I guess miserable 9 to 5′ers just want to go mill around with their own kind.
….
Pending ridiculous gap down at the open X is getting shorted.
What do you win for beating fucktards?
March 28th, 2008 at 1:04 pmCheck out Chuck Benett in the North, up 37% being short PAL. Guess that’s why JJ hasn’t been around.
Congrats Fly.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
March 28th, 2008 at 1:05 pmI win not having to buy and mail you idiots a “Fly for President” yard sign.
And, no need to give away a free ino.com subscription, valued at $550.
Finally, proof of my dominance over you fuckers will never be questioned.
March 28th, 2008 at 1:05 pm“I’m just blowing on you fuckers.”
I don’t get it. Has “the Fly” turned gay?
March 28th, 2008 at 1:10 pmFinally, proof of my dominance over you fuckers will never be questioned.

March 28th, 2008 at 1:14 pmI really didn’t want to win, anyway. I only picked CALM, so I could throw an egregious supply of eggs at the winner.

March 28th, 2008 at 1:54 pmS&P just downgraded FGIC to junk status ….
March 28th, 2008 at 1:59 pmDon’t forget to root the Cards to victory this weekend over the loathsome Carolina Tarheels.
Especially you, Fly, since your New Yawk paisano is helming the Redbirds.

Good lord. It is just starting. I’m convinced.
March 29th, 2008 at 6:47 pmWow Boomer, that sounds logical, actually.
In my business, brokers are dropping like flies. Left and right, blowing up their books, which happens to affect the average investor.
The average investor, in so many words, has been blown out the water.
Lucky for some of them, they know “The Fly.”
March 29th, 2008 at 6:51 pmI don’t remember so many “recession deniers” in past downturns. Weird.
