BEHOLD: iBC 2.0
March 30, 2008 – 11:13 am
It’s official, the ungodly forces within iBC have “de-oranged” the site. And, as you might notice, the site looks somewhat normal/professional—compared to the cartoonish bullshit I had going on prior.
Much praise and thanks to iBankcoin’s webmaster: Jeremy.
UPDATE: One cool new feature, a la Jeremy, all non- Fly articles will be sequenced chronologically.
UPDATE: New iBC commerical

Can’t access it.
March 30th, 2008 at 12:17 pmI like it although it does look very much like the old site.
March 30th, 2008 at 12:27 pmFly read this..
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India_headed_for_food_shortages/articleshow/2912360.cms
March 30th, 2008 at 12:37 pmWell,Ah-Uhh,the global economy remains very strong and Uhh Ahh a strong dollar is in our best interest.
“The Fly” is God
ibank.com is top shelf.
March 30th, 2008 at 12:43 pmhad to fix the video, it’s in the PG
March 30th, 2008 at 1:14 pmfly - coupla ideas for you:
more viral tools - prominently display RSS feeds, offer ecards, banners, blog buttons, and a stock widget that can be embedded in other blogs
set up an amazon or iTunes affiliate account. sell the music you recommend, get a piece.
offer paid tabs, in a different section, to any blogger that wants to pay you to post here. peanut gallery free, and the only way to “earn” a “true” tab is via the peanut gallery, via fighting in the trenches. but lazy internets can buy one if they want.
set up a “rich man’s” lifestyle section where you rec cool gear, wine, etc. set up affiliate accounts and get piece.
lastly, a paid annual summit. invite only. meet everyone face to face. secret society type thing. get an invite, accept, get the date and location. Pay $1000 or something. Meals, wine, cigars. One night only in NYC. maybe 30 invites. iBC secret society.
March 30th, 2008 at 2:34 pmi like that secret society thing. that could be bad ass. fugging bad ass. like the fucking masons. secret pick up point.
imagine:
Invite to meet at battery park at 4 pm on X date. Wear black. no phones, no blackberry. put on the hood. get in the car. driver takes you to undisclosed location (maybe that church/club place you own?) bring an offering to the society . start a museum of offerings. splinter cells can be started by those invited to the summit. start a movement. or cult. whichever.
sun comes up, you get dropped back at the park.
I do something like this with guys already. It freaks you out at first, but becomes the funnest thing you do all year.
it can be a very positive thing. trade ideas, teach skills, encourage each other…
or just blow stuff up.
March 30th, 2008 at 2:41 pmNot bad ideas, and that video was good rage, nice work
March 30th, 2008 at 2:55 pmCAJUN is the man !
March 30th, 2008 at 3:10 pmCan the secret society, whilst in it’s required ninja gear, take pipes to the kneecaps of Wall Streeters?
March 30th, 2008 at 3:12 pmfly, you could hire some of those sign spinning goons to spin ibankcoin.com signs on wall street.
BEHOLD! on one side
iBANKCOIN.com on the other.
and in front on CNBC studios in NJ.
March 30th, 2008 at 3:43 pmSo does this rice shortage mean that there will be global gov’t. intervention to lower commodity prices?
I’m trying to figure out if this is good or bad for a short commodity trade.
March 30th, 2008 at 4:00 pmGreat commercial!
March 30th, 2008 at 4:00 pmso good. Lets take this piec o shiit site public.
March 30th, 2008 at 4:27 pmwow,
Pipe to the kneecaps is okay, but then you’d better take that pipe straight to the head. Otherwise you just end up with one (or more) pissed off cripple fairly intent on revenge. Odd, no?
March 30th, 2008 at 5:52 pmHey Fly nice article over on the “other” blog. I agree with you 100%. One question I have is you say your moving against the positions, what are you hedging those positions with? I guess I missed your buy posts unless they were GDP.
March 30th, 2008 at 6:38 pmBoomer, one of those sign spinners hangs out on the road on my way home from work.
Geuss what he is selling: Centex Homes.
lol
Damn he can spin that plywood sign all over the place. I keep waiting for it to catch the underside of his nose.
March 30th, 2008 at 6:42 pmThe “HOPE” rally will be short lived, I would say a month or so.
March 30th, 2008 at 6:49 pmGapping?
WTF are you talking about? Other blog?
March 30th, 2008 at 7:29 pmYou know, the “other” blog.
The one where you are bullish.
March 30th, 2008 at 7:50 pmWTF? There’s another blog and it’s bullish?
No, just no.
March 30th, 2008 at 7:52 pmWhat blog?
March 30th, 2008 at 7:53 pmThis is news to me.
Must be a Fly impostor.
March 30th, 2008 at 7:54 pmFor all this confusion, I must say: Fuck you gapping.
Cocksucker.
March 30th, 2008 at 7:54 pmmust be this one:
http://www.cattle.com/blog/blog/
March 30th, 2008 at 7:57 pmNot to worry Fly, I knew he had to be making it up.
Can we force Gapping to resign like the Secretary of HUD, who is about to announce his resignation per the WSJ.
March 30th, 2008 at 8:02 pmFor what it is worth, Gapping is talking about Cajun’s link to Notable Calls, where the author, we’ll call him “notable,” mentions some of the same positions that Fly has, and then notes that he is starting to buy against those shorts. Or some shit like that. Here, read it yourselves
http://www.notablecalls.blogspot.com/
March 30th, 2008 at 8:10 pmOh. Well I read that article earlier but did not think that the writer was Fly.
March 30th, 2008 at 8:14 pmLooks NICE
March 30th, 2008 at 8:15 pmI like the new design, clean and uncluttered. It’s a winner.
March 30th, 2008 at 8:22 pmbut…but…but…what happened to orange??
Noooooooo…
March 30th, 2008 at 8:25 pmi miss the orange, which had history…and a fairly unclaimed color in US finance
nice chart placement. a little header heavy. get more above the fold.
however I like the more horizontal use of the screen. its wider. and wider is better:
March 30th, 2008 at 8:28 pmYeah, I like the extra ‘girth’ of the site.
March 30th, 2008 at 8:33 pmBrings it extra…’gravitas’.
new site is cool, but hurry, quick, ….. get CRAMER off the cover.
March 30th, 2008 at 8:51 pmgood job jeremy
March 30th, 2008 at 9:06 pmplease adjust the posts so that the articles that have been read are a different color once you click on them. that was clutch
March 30th, 2008 at 9:11 pm“I’m super bullish!” on the new design of course.
Great work J
March 30th, 2008 at 9:18 pmNice work Jeremy!
Now we have our futures info, again!
March 30th, 2008 at 9:18 pmThis will be much easier to scroll and navigate on the iPhone without those useless ad links in the test areas. I had a hard time with them because I would constantly get redirected off of the site when all I was doing was scrolling.
This is much better. Thanks!
March 30th, 2008 at 9:20 pmThe new site is a monstrous absurdity.
Off to the race track…
March 30th, 2008 at 9:22 pmI like the new look, the new colors… and the new Uncle Sam at the top, instead of the damn commies you used to have all over the place (tongue in cheek, I know, but…)
March 30th, 2008 at 9:23 pmComing soon:
We will put a recent comment thingy, which will link all comments from all of iBC’s blogs, including the PG.
Developing…
March 30th, 2008 at 9:26 pmHey, Fly is playing us regular contributors against one another with this chronological stuff…
Now, Cajun will always be at the top…
We have to revolt! Boone, Gunners: we must never rest to keep Cajun from always having that top spot!
March 30th, 2008 at 9:27 pmNot really. You will get top post in the AM.
Do you like your new header?
I stole it from a fucking carnival. You should have seen me beating up that clown for it.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:30 pmThat box played a major role in Tom Hanks’ “Big.”
Creepy fucking box.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:36 pmNow it plays a huge role in Woodshedders internet career.
Same thing, no?
March 30th, 2008 at 9:37 pmlmao you bastards.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:39 pmAs anonymous said:
please adjust the posts so that the articles that have been read are a different color once you click on them. that was clutch
Yup…can’t tell which articles I’ve already read but other than that new site is diesel.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:40 pmSite really looks great. Also seems to load faster. I’m currently streaming live video in another window and the site still popped right up. As expected, nice work Fly.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:45 pmIs the annoying Ino.com banner ad at the top color coordinated with the new blog for a reason, or is that just coincidence?
‘Cause at first I thought it was part of the site’s header… riffing on overmortgaged efftards reading the “Help Wanteds” while standing in line down the county unemployment office.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:53 pmWoody, I’ll slow down my posts for you.
In other news, iBC is taking over the financial blogosphere with the addition of Adam.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:56 pmwell, why try to totally look like the WSJ? bring some orange back. next thing you know you will announce a dress code (again) to participate in iBC. what will be the secret handshake of the secret society? or, we could ID each other on the streets of NY by carrying an orange around…
March 30th, 2008 at 10:07 pmlooks like woodshedder is drawing cartoons now instead of charts:
http://tinyurl.com/2ty3p3
March 30th, 2008 at 10:18 pmTwo thumbs UP for 2.0! Bout fucken time.
Nice work Jeremy.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:23 pmFly:
Fucking fantastic. This website layout implies Serious Business (TM).
Jeremy: Beautiful CSS and photoshopping gradient work. Fucking quality, man!
Quality A-plus-plus Would Buy From Again Super Fast Shipping.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:23 pmit’s Zoltar. just watched Big with my son.
true story: when I was 27 a lady approached my in our local Kroger. “excuse me,” she asked… “are you Tom Hanks.”
“No,” I replied. “I’m his brother.”
My wife nearly kicked me.
Also true: my little brother walks around signing autographs for Pete Sampras. Looks just like him.
Weird genes, we have in our irish italian family.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:29 pmIt loads faster because we are now on a dedicated server.
Jeremy will get a $10 bonus this month.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:44 pmThanks
March 30th, 2008 at 10:51 pmWoodshedder said:
“So does this rice shortage mean that there will be global gov’t. intervention to lower commodity prices?”
Are you crazy? Government intervention to lower prices can NEVER actually cure a shortage. It could only make the shortage worse and make whatever is still available disappear totally and goes to black market for even higher prices. Zimbabwe has run out inflation, the president there tried to crack down on price by forcing every one to lower price by half. The result was all grocery store shelves went empty.
Prior to the great famine in China from 1959-1961, people got to eat as much as they want, in public cafeterias, for FREE. So they eat a lot and people ended up eating more food than what’s reasonably available. When it’s discovered that the grain inventory numbers have been exagerated it was too late already. It was a man made disaster purely due to government intervention.
Free market is the only thing that works. The commodity bull should last another 10 years, like it or not.
March 30th, 2008 at 11:16 pm$10 more than Bear Sterns employees got
March 30th, 2008 at 11:16 pmLooks are deceiving. Where’s all the vulgarities?
Fuck you.
March 31st, 2008 at 12:48 amOH MY GOD .. why on earth would you change the site to look just like timothysykes.com
arggghhhh
March 31st, 2008 at 12:58 amLooks great, Nice work Jeremy
March 31st, 2008 at 3:47 amFly,
How about putting a tab for someone to discuss the ongoings of the economy conditions, like breaking down the data?
The website looks really “FLY” btw…good job… I’m impressed and that rarely happens….(nah that was a lie)
March 31st, 2008 at 4:03 amExcellent looking site. Very clean lines and a nice read.
March 31st, 2008 at 4:20 amAlthough you got rid of the Gator Orange there is the gator Blueish look. Job well done.
Headline from NYTimes Front Page:
“As Jobs Vanish, Food Stamp Use Is at Record Pace”
By ERIK ECKHOLM
Published: March 31, 2008
Driven by a painful mix of layoffs and rising food and fuel prices, the number of Americans receiving food stamps is projected to reach 28 million in the coming year, the highest level since the aid program began in the 1960s.

Must be signs of a bottom
Buy alcohol with food stamps, get drunk, buy stocks!
March 31st, 2008 at 4:24 amBIG improvement, looks great, loads fast.
very nice work!!
March 31st, 2008 at 4:35 amThis site looks like the fucking cubicle I used to work in.
Sorry, I’m a contrarian.
Having little dinosaurs along the border would be a huge improvement though… however, it’s a good start.

March 31st, 2008 at 4:56 amFly: There must be an imposter, I am/was certain that you wrote the notes that appeared on NotableCalls. It just matches your style so well including the work egregious. The same investments, same outlook, same words even so naturally I would expect such intelligence to come from a man with an IQ over 130. Correct me if I was mistaken and there is another man out there with a time machine.
March 31st, 2008 at 5:21 amBy the way the “baby blue” color does not look aggressive and vile enough to belong on this blog. That said I like the new look, good job Jeremy.
March 31st, 2008 at 5:22 amGood stuff my fearless Leader. Rule on King of Rib Eye.
March 31st, 2008 at 5:32 amGap:
I did not write that article. I never use “…” in between sentences, by the way.
March 31st, 2008 at 5:42 am“I give it five-stars and a goat.”
loads quick too.
March 31st, 2008 at 5:44 amFly I went back and re read the note. Upon second look I do agree there were too many grammatical errors for it to be you. My apologies.
On another note sgp does look appealing here if you don’t have healthcare.
