On that subject, I’ve been a big Cormac McCarthy fan ever since my uncle gave me Blood Meridien about 15 years ago, but had yet to read No Country for Old Men. In fact, I was kind of pissed to see they’d made it into a movie before I had read it.
So I finished it up tonight (it’s not very long), and the one thing that struck me as I put it down was that in the end, it was a love story.
Given the press on the movie, and the bulk of McCarthy’s work that I’ve read previous, that realization rates a very large “Odd, no?”
