Phillips, Thomas, Manningham, Kehl, Goff, Woodson, Henderson. The G-Men got much needed help for the secondary, in Phillips and Thomas, and two solid linebackers in Kehl and Goff.
Like Toomer, Manningham is another Michigan WR. Manning to Manningham. Odd.
I like the film on Woodson, even though he is from Kaintucky.
Henderson will give additional sack-ability from DE.
It’s all good. I’m very pleased with these picks. Very pleased.
Oh,…and the Cowboys still blow.

You like the Giants? You just lost our vote!
April 28th, 2008 at 9:32 amDisregard that last loser.
I think it’s intriguing that the Giants now have two Kentucky QB’s on their roster. Maybe they felt they got so much value out of Phil Simms (Louisville native, Morehead (KY) State grad) that they needed to go back to the well?
Woodson is a very safe bet here as a backup in the sixth round. Earlier this year, Kiper was talking about him as a top ten pick overall. The hitch thing is a negative, but not worth this much of a drop.
I also like these two linebacker picks at #4 and #5 (Kehl and Goff) — both good size and speed and smart — mechanical engineers! You don’t see that every day.
Phillips will start from day one, but it remains to be seen how much of an injury risk is Terrell Thomas.
April 28th, 2008 at 9:53 amThe Crackboys had a very solid draft, much to my egregious chagrin.
April 28th, 2008 at 9:56 amI’m liking the way the secondary is starting to look. Let’s hope Thomas does stay injury free.
Intelligent and cerebral linebackers! Who’d have thunk?
Interesting situation at QB now. Will they unload Hasselbeck or Lorenzen for another DB?
April 28th, 2008 at 12:02 pmHasselback’s been gone for almost a year now, Clueboy.
Anthony Wright is the other backup. I’d say he’s definitely gone, but probably J-Load too, as they also signed former #1 pick David Carr in this free agency period.
So it’ll probably be Manning, Carr and Woodson in that order.
April 28th, 2008 at 12:31 pmBaseball has been distracting me from big blue developments. My bad.
