Today was opposite day! Seemed like all my longs went down and all my shorts went up. Of course, after 2 huge days to the downside, an opposite day is to be expected. A few things continued to work though, including (MER: 28.35 +3.02%) & (MGM: 35.19 +5.11%) puts and (TRLG: 27.15 -0.22%) calls.

(HUM: 46.40 +0.74%) showed up on my screen tonight… I had consigned it to the junk pile a few months back but it’s now showing some life and has even been added to the ‘conviction buy’ list at Goldman. 2 days straight of good volume has seen it break above $48.

Despite the overall tragedy of today, I actually did good in the market. Up about 3% for the day, with the unrealized profits in (CAKE: 15.37 +0.52%), (JBLU: 6.07 +0.33%), (MER: 28.35 +3.02%), (MGM: 35.19 +5.11%), (NIHD: 52.52 -1.32%), (VMW: 39.70 +0.33%) outweighing all the small losses that were booked.
