My good English teachers back in the socialist paradise of (Czecho)Slovakia tried to ingrain some grammar into me.
Plus, I just sold my copy of “Elements of Style” on half.com, which had this example in it:
“I saw the trailer peeking through the window”.
In that sentence, ‘peeking’ is a modifier, more specifically a dangling participle. And since it’s a present participle, it also is the gerund form of the verb.
Danny,
Great job on the dictionary. Funny shit.
“de-banked”?
“hatfucker”?
“palladium super cycle”?
