We end higher this week.by eliteG on May 19th, 2008 at 12:25 am |
Alright, everyone and their dog is saying we are headed down this week. That kind of tude will give us fuel to head higher. The markets end higher this week. Let it be written, let it be done.
My plays:
CYD - holding since last Thursday @ 10.78, unit sales up 32%, volume climbing not exhausting
SATC - holding since last Thursday @ 2.09, near highest close of the year, volume climbing, alt ener power mngt
GLW - playing the GLWFF $30 option @ .25, lots of positive chatter on this stock

Welcome, Elite.
I disagree about the direction next week. Nonetheless, good trading to you!
May 19th, 2008 at 12:27 amthx Woodshedder.
I also like charting the breakouts as you do in your section. VRUS popped on my radar on Friday. May be something to keep an eye on. I wrote down in my notes.. that an analyst gave them a $35 target because their hepatitus C drug may the most promising.
Will be keeping an eye on MELA its just that while their volume is relatively high its still a bit low. I’d like to see some sustained volume above 200k.
May 19th, 2008 at 1:37 amElite, MELA is not very liquid, a minus for me. However, what about the technology? Can you imagine what sales of that instrument would look like?
May 19th, 2008 at 1:56 amYes reading about MELA now.. that could definitely be big. I am in the medical device/software field and I’ll start asking around about potential. I am trying to find if they have any other products under development.
About VRUS.. I looked at the volume on intraday - came in the last minute. Complete manipulation for the late news story with analyst $35 target. Still if one is quick they can most likely profit from this trade.
May 19th, 2008 at 2:07 amLooks like MELA has a key report coming soon, regarding the FDA app. I wonder if the recent surge is speculation, or a leak. I guess it really doesn’t matter as I’ll never know…
Let us know what you find.
Charts like VRUS always make me want to get long, but it seems that typically they just keep heading on down. I agree about making a quick profit there though.
May 19th, 2008 at 2:14 amHi Elite, my welcomes as well.
My guess is that You’ll be very happy long with GLW. I owned it a couple years ago. Bought @ 11, held for 1 year, rose to 30, sold @ 27 on way down. Been heading higher for some time now. GL.
