First Off: A Review
A week ago I started presenting penny stock picks as something of an algorithm check. I noted that I was testing certain ideas and here is a week’s result:
| Date Recommended | Equity | Price Recommended | June 8 Price | Gain/Loss |
| 07/01/08 | 2.9 | 3.4 | 17.24% | |
| 07/01/08 | GLRP | 1.2 | 1.6 | 33.33% |
| 07/01/08 | NGSX | 3.2 | 2.6 | -18.75% |
| 07/02/08 | GNB | 3.6 | 4.93 | 36.94% |
| 07/02/08 | SRLS | 4.9 | 4.91 | 0.20% |
| 07/02/08 | CHQ | 6.5 | 6.15 | -5.38% |
| Average Gain/Loss | 10.60% |
Some did well, notably [[GLRP]] and [[GNB]], it should be noted that the run [[SRLS]] seemed to be making has faltered and [[NGSX]] has lost a significant portion of it’s value.
On the other hand - the aggregate value of a week’s motion has been positive 10% amidst all manner of bloodshed in other parts of the market.
Today’s Selections:
[[HBIO]], the Harvard Bioscience Inc. popped up on this morning’s charts and with a PE of about 20 this equity looks good long @ $4.5-4.55 range.
[[GTA]], the Golf Trust of America has been having a rough year of it but, there it is up on the screener. A half crazed investor should probably be able to almost justify themselves @ $1.45 considering it’s 20 cent drop yesterday.
As always, remember that the market is:
Theme Song
Disclaimer:
Do your own freakin’ homework. I’m writing for amusement and to test my theories and mutterings about the market. I’m talking about penny stocks for pete’s sake! Investing based on some guy with my nome de plume might do bad things to your pocketbook.

Your stats are egregious.
GNB was 4.6, not 3.6 on 7/2.
GLRP was 1.6 then & 1.2 now, not the other way around.
NGSX is also reversed, in your favor.
A shoddy post. You should check your work before posting.

July 9th, 2008 at 1:19 pmWhat’s really egregious is that no one who complained about the chart noticed that I listed the ‘Recommended’ price not the actual price.
But I’ll make sure that if I post another chart I’m extra clear for those in the back of the room.
