Options for Expiration Weekby DPeezy on July 14th, 2008 at 1:58 am |
It’s the favorite time of the month, expiration week! A time of excess lunacy and financial shenanigans. Time to implement my usual earnings strangles/straddles and continue my series of related posts:
I haven’t collated the results from the previous months’ trades, but my anecdotal experience is that the strategy is profitable. I’ve been meaning to compile the data for a while now, so I will be sure to do so once this week winds down.
Stocks I may be looking to play this week include:
- Mon.PM/Tues.AM: (DNA: 75.41 -3.41%), (SCHW: 15.3925 +5.07%)
- Tues.PM/Wed.AM: (CSX: 33.38 +1.89%), (NITE: 14.12 +3.07%), (LUFK: 41.52 -6.57%), (STX: 3.95 +1.02%)
- Wed.PM/Thur.AM: (ADS: 39.75 +1.61%), (CIT: 1.9435 -13.62%), (EDU: 41.80 -9.19%), (NOK: 13.22 +1.85%), (ORB: 16.57 +3.76%), (SPWR: 0.00 N/A)
- Thur.PM/Fri.AM: (COF: 27.44 +3.55%), (ESLR: 2.12 -6.19%), (GOOG: 277.65 -0.90%), (SLB: 43.88 -7.23%)
(Although for the 2nd half of the week, I probably will be switching over to August options to reduce risk.)
RC has posted a list of upcoming earnings, if you’re looking for more ideas. I also really like Danny’s pick, VRUS.
NOTE: iPhone 2.0 (the software, not the 3G phone) is a gamechanger and is everything that the iPhone should’ve been last summer. Push emails, exchange integration, and custom apps combined with the design that shames all other (smart)phones…what more could you want?? (Excellent 1st weekend sales projections; Also, check out some quick app reviews.)

DPeezy good to see you back.
July 14th, 2008 at 7:40 amHaha…nice vid. Maybe iPhone 3.0 will have those features. I especially want the ’self-destruct’.
It’s good to be back.
July 14th, 2008 at 9:43 amThanks Dpeez. VRUS sorta shat today, but it’s still on that trendline, and I still like it on the breakout very, very much.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:31 pmYeah, no cooperation today. I really like it on a breakout as well, sadly it does not have options.
