Plane loses cabin pressure, emergency landing, blah blah blahby DSB on July 23rd, 2008 at 1:02 am |
So a plane carrying Ron Paul and 6 other members of Congress lost cabin pressure & made an emergency landing. Shouldn’t his name be in the headline of the news stories I’ve seen on it, and shouldn’t it be front page for at least a little while? Even Drudge only has “SCARE: Flight carrying members of Congress makes emergency landing…” - which is buried below a story about Christian Bale beating up his mom & sister, which is below hurricane dolly. John Edwards getting caught visiting his mistress sits at the top of Drudge (ok that was entertaining).

This guy is the highest ranking, most visible public official to stand up and give people the straight scoop about how we’re all getting fucked. He was taken down in the elections, and his message has been filtered out or ignored by the mainstream.
Here are some screenshots. The only outlet that mentioned Ron Paul by name in the headline was fark.com. MSNBC and FOX are radio silence on this right now (and for some reason CNN seems to be really focusing on black issues. Headline black injustice story and advertisements for “Special Reports - Black in America”).

Fuckery. Though Britney Spears may be poised for a comeback.

*Yawn* emergency landing. Where’s the human tragedy?!
Wake me up when the next bit of news hits about Britney Spears’ or Paris Hilton’s panties.
“How to paint kitchen cabinets” - this is front page news? Are you kidding me, CNN?!?
Note, as of 12:15am PDT, not even the lost-in-between-everything KHOU link is there. But we do get a tidbit about the new hosts of an obscure TV-show and a potential Britney Spears comeback. Awesome.
July 23rd, 2008 at 3:25 amAs much as I agree with your viewpoints about Ron Paul, it was only a loss of cabin pressure.

I agree, but these days it’s headline news if Britney Spears so much as cuts a wet fart. So it’s strange that the story wasn’t given more attention, even if there was really no danger to the plane. I’ve seen Drudge headline stupider/less relevant shit than that.
