Blast From The Past, Part 2by DPeezy on November 5th, 2008 at 4:00 am |
Sorry to displace the political shenanigans, but it’s time to bottle up all those feelings and move on. Â The next president is set, nothing you can do about that now. Â Live with it, learn from it, and do better next time (if you’re dissatisfied). Â And if Obama is your guy, then enjoy and hope that he delivers on the hope & changes that he has promised. Â Most importantly, remember that we’ll all still be here 4 years from now.
So, on to the topic at hand…after MVIS made a breakout screen yesterday, today we got another iBC (slightly lesser) legend making an appearance. Â Lady and Gents, welcome back Xinhua Finance Media Limited (ADR) [[XFML]] :
That’s a nice looking double bottom, confirmed by today’s price action breaking through the horizontal resistance @ $1.25.
As an aside, take a moment to let that price sink in…XFML was one of ‘The Fly’s first ever picks at this new site (almost a full year ago). Â At the time, it was trying to break above $10. Â Wow! Â 1 year and -90% later…
Anyway…look for a retest of $1.25 for optimal entry on the long side. Â Earnings coming up in a week and a half, which have traditionally resulted in classic pre-earnings hype and sell-the-news scenarios.

And optimist, eh?
Well, I guess you dont’ work in downtown/midtown Manhattan.

November 5th, 2008 at 9:06 amDP, I agree with Jake. I’m getting my lay-off notice on Friday. It would be nice to think we will all be around in 4 years, but the “Big Man” upstairs might have other plans for us.
November 5th, 2008 at 9:44 amJake/Yogi:
I work at a company that over the past year has experienced the butt-end of a spinoff, resulting in roughly 50% layoffs. Despite all that, uncertainty surrounds us and threatens everything that we’ve worked for. Shitty pricing for our products, falling demand, etc…I can almost guarantee you that I will not be at the same job in 4 years.
I’ve seen many friends and co-workers get the shaft and almost all of them have stayed on their feet and have found gainful & meaningful employment since then (I say ‘almost’ since I obviously didn’t know everybody).
This gives me optimism that even in a receding economy, if you apply yourself and showcase your skills, you will come out ok.
Chin up, fellers. This isn’t the end of the world.
November 5th, 2008 at 9:59 amDP - Thanks. I am optimistic. I just need to stop posting gloomy sounding comments and buy the dips and sell the rips.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:19 amGood luck DPeezy and Yogi, may your pic-i-nick baskets always be full. If it helps at all to know, the last six months of selling online have been the most difficult ever since we started selling online. People just don’t or can’t afford to spend as much anymore. We adjust, find different things, and move on, hopefully we will get through it ok. On the plus side, sales seem to be picking up a little bit more as we get closer to the holidays.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:33 amDpeez - I am a job flitting water bug, I wasn’t talking about something as quotidian as employment.
I was talking about the nihilist bugfuckers that like to go “boom!”
Especially when a real live apostate-infidel is Prez of the US.

I sold a book yesterday on this performer and thought something looked awfully familiar about the haircut lmao.
November 5th, 2008 at 11:04 amTo clarify — I am not the one who believes BA Barakus is an apostate-infidel.
That’s what the crazy bugfuckers think about anyone who’s pops was a Muslim and they ain’t.

November 5th, 2008 at 11:05 amI thought these dudes were Anton’s long lost ancestors?
______
November 5th, 2008 at 11:08 amOh yes, they’re part of the family tree too ROFL.
November 5th, 2008 at 11:10 amBoca,
Uncle Ish! Ironically, the same haircut accounts for both of our careers.
Jake,
November 5th, 2008 at 11:19 amWe, um, don’t really talk about Great Uncle Chief Flaming Feathers
or his “male friend,” not that there was anything wrong with that.
Youse guys (and Boca) crack me up. BTW Jake, how many years of Latin were you subjected to as a young man?
November 5th, 2008 at 11:20 amYogi — my high school suspended Latin for about a ten year period, and I was there during that period. My Dad and my little brothers took it, but not me (we did have an English section on Latin & Greek roots, but no grammar, etc).
Now my kids take it, and Greek too.
Very important.
___
November 5th, 2008 at 8:30 pmJake, We had four years of Latin and two years of French. Caesar in second year and Virgil in fourth year. The guys my class who griped the most went on to be pretty good writers.
November 5th, 2008 at 9:37 pmFour years of French, I may know how to present my name to a French whooah.
________
November 5th, 2008 at 11:27 pmHell, 7 years of Spanish with a minor along the way and all I can say is ‘Que Pasa?’ And of course ‘Donde esta el biblioteca?’. No practice; no good.
