My Latest Breakout: The Finish

Wood’s Shower

Wood’s Shower Floor

Not that anyone is interested in my home repair projects. I just had to get that stupid, “My Bet, We Bounce” headline off the top.

Except for some stray grout and dust, the shower is finished. In case you are interested, here is what it used to look like: My Latest Breakout.

With my almost 4% gains this week, we are all set to go pick out a stylish shower door.

Check back later as I will be posting my watch list of short setups, starting sometime this afternoon or evening. I will add to the charts over the course of today and tomorrow. You don’t want to miss it as it is going to be one helluva coin-banking watch list.

shazaam woodrow, I knew u had it in you. —-However—- what kind of grout did you use? the type you have to seal twice with silicon sealer? or grout that does not need sealing ? smooth or sanded? and you should have used Platinum or Pewter grey grout instead of white, at least on the floor, or blending it up the walls into white in case Fly comes by after weekending in Romania – u know he’s crazy enough to bring a lady goat with him! etc

oh, I forgot, u should have put in an over-the-head sticking down from the ceiling in the middle waterfall/tropical storm/drenching rain type shower head. That would have been like Bauhaus moderne! ok next time.

Instead of putting in a shower door, why not put Moroccan beads?

Fly, did Frank the contractor talk you into the beads? Of could you not figure out how to hang the shower door?

bylo- sanded grout, non-sealed. It will get sealed, but it isn’t yet. The shower floor grout is not white, it is “fawn.” I have platinum or pewter grey grout on the bathroom floor and don’t really like how it looks. The shower walls have a darker grout even than the “fawn.”

    Excellent job!
We are planning a bath reno in the future, we need to talk. I can take the bitch apart, but putting it back together again is not my thing.

    WSH- thanks.

Let me know. I’ll be glad to help in any way. I’ve got basic skills, and two of my good friends are contractors. Just shoot me an email.

wall street hunter- new construction is a piece of cake – just document (video tape) the tear-down step by step, then just do the opposite build- up with new materials to reconstruct.

    Shed,

YOU did that yourself? Dude…nice job.
I’ve always believed that finding a job plumber is harder than finding a good lawyer.

    Nice work Shedder.

Must be the season for bathroom projects as I’m currently gutting the downstairs bathroom and mud room. Taking it down to the studs and floor joists then rebuilding it from the there. Expect a call in late February when I’m ready for the tile to go in!

Yoka, not all by myself. Laying the drain pan was difficult. That is the plumbing part, mostly, and the part I was most unfamiliar with. Thanks!

TG- there is room for 2!

Dog, let me know, I’ll help any way I can.

Nice job. But, whats really impresses me is how short a time it took you. I tend to have a procrastination problem when it comes to home projects.
